During our intervention block, students have been designing and implementing lessons. Each student picks a topic that he or she is comfortable with. Once students select a topic they need to prepare a fifteen minute lesson. We start by creating a project plan proposal essay. Guided by the teacher, students write an essay with details of their lesson, materials, and expectations. The students carry this essay with them so that they can read it to any teacher or administrator who is curious about their project. The lesson must include an introduction explaining the rules of equipment, explanation of learning objective and student practice. In this intervention group, students picked robotics, garage band and virtual reality. Students conducted their lesson with first graders and second graders.
